Role Description

The Marketing Intern will support Alzheimer’s WA’s strategic marketing and communications activities by conducting desktop research and competitor analysis, synthesising findings, and producing a final report with actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities Conduct desk-based research into Alzheimer’s WA’s market environment, including trends in dementia awareness campaigns, non-profit marketing in the aged / health sector, and digital communication best practices. Perform a competitor and peer-organisation analysis: identify key organisations (state, national and local) working in dementia/aged-care support, evaluate their marketing/communications strategies (website/content/social media/events/fundraising marketing), and identify strengths, gaps and opportunities. Map Alzheimer’s WA’s current marketing/communications footprint (channels, content, messaging, target audiences) and benchmark against identified organisations. Prepare a structured, professional final report of findings, including: Executive summary Research methodology and data sources Competitor/peer-organisation overview and comparative matrix Insights and key observations (what is working, what is missing) Recommendations for Alzheimer’s WA (immediate, short-term, medium-term) Suggested metrics and KPIs to track marketing effectiveness moving forward Present the report to the Alzheimer’s WA marketing team (and other stakeholders as required) and participate in a debrief/feedback session.
