Role Description

The Intern role at Avenues Australia is designed to support the promotion of our mission to enhance the lives of individuals living with disabilities, mental ill-health, and/or aging. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies and plans that align with Avenues Australia’s values and objectives, ensuring effective engagement with participants, stakeholders, and the broader community. The work also contributes to the operation of Avenues Australia.
Through creativity, implementing contemporary practices, problem solving skills and attention to detail, the Intern will contribute to more effective operations of Avenues Australia’s, and ultimately improve our services, fostering community connections, and supporting the organisation’s commitment to inclusion and empowerment. You will have the ability to: • Develop innovative data tools and dashboards that simplify budget management and resonate with staff needs while ensuring accuracy and compliance with NDIS financial frameworks. • Work collaboratively with your co-intern, internal teams (e.g., Service Coordinators, Recovery Coaches), and stakeholders to gather requirements, test functionalities, and refine tools. • Research and recommend best-practice tools, data strategies, and industry approaches to enhance Avenues Australia’s operational efficiency and impact within the disability, mental health, and aged care sectors.
