Global Citizenship Forum+

Durham University, 8-11 July 2019

The University of Western Australia is part of the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU), a network of seven universities ‘partnering for a better world’. The McCusker Centre for Citizenship proudly supports this work through our different programs and promotion of active citizenship in the community.

As part of the MNU Global Citizenship Programme, there will be a four day Global Citizenship Forum held at Durham University, UK, in July 2019. The forum will focus on the theme of Empowering Learners and will give students a space to explore a variety of different global citizenship activities in a supportive, engaging environment.

Last year, three students from the McCusker Centre for Citizenship travelled to Otago, NZ, to attend the forum themed Community Engagement and Global Citizenship. This video captures the ideas and aims of students who attended the forum. You can also read about the experience of attending the forum from one of our students.
