Role Title: Work Health & Safety Intern

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

The intern will be supervised by the City's Work Health and Safety Coordinator and structured to provide meaningful learning opportunities while contributing to real WHS outcomes.
The placement would provide exposure to a broad range of WHS activities and may include:
• Participating in workplace inspections across City facilities and operational sites
• Assisting with risk assessments and risk register reviews
• Reviewing WHS procedures and supporting legislative compliance reviews
• Participating in incident investigations and corrective action processes
• Supporting WHS Representative activities and consultation initiatives
• Assisting with WHS projects, audits and continuous improvement activities
We are interested in connecting with students who have an interest in occupational health and safety, risk management, workplace wellbeing, human factors, or related disciplines and are seeking workplace experience within a local government environment.
The City of Nedlands is situated just 7km from Perth and stretches from the banks of the beautiful Swan River to the edge of the Indian Ocean. A population of over 21,000 live in the suburbs Nedlands, Dalkeith, Mt Claremont, Swanbourne, Karrakatta, and parts of Floreat and Shenton Park. The City is made up of four wards – Melvista, Hollywood, Dalkeith and Coastal.
