This internship provides a practical opportunity to gain experience in community development within local government, with a focus on strategic social planning, social impact measurement and understanding community outcomes.
The role will support the Community Development team's implementation of a social impact evaluation framework. The intern will contribute to project-based work that strengthens the measurement, analysis and communication of social impact across community development initiatives. The intern will be encouraged to apply creative thinking to impact reporting by exploring innovative ways to communicate outcomes, insights and community stories.
In addition, the intern will gain exposure to a broad range of community development projects and activities across the organisation.
Working closely with the Community Development team, the intern will develop practical skills in stakeholder engagement, project management, impact measurement and reporting. They will also gain an understanding of how local government responds to emerging community needs through social trend analysis, alignment with state and federal priorities, and implementation of key strategies.
