The City of Nedlands is seeking a People & Culture Policy and Diversity Intern to support the review and redevelopment of key People & Culture policies, procedures and initiatives as part of the City's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity Improvement Program. Working closely with the Organisational Development Business Partner and the People & Culture team, the intern will assist with policy reviews, research, benchmarking and project work to ensure People & Culture practices align with current legislation, best practice and organisational priorities.
Key responsibilities may include:
• Reviewing People & Culture policies and procedures, including Recruitment and Selection, Workplace Behaviour, Equal Employment Opportunity and related frameworks.
• Researching legislative requirements, industry trends and local government best practice.
• Benchmarking policies and initiatives across local governments and other organisations.
• Supporting diversity, equity and inclusion projects and resources.
• Assisting with recruitment, employee experience and workforce planning initiatives.
• Contributing to workforce reporting, employee feedback analysis and exit interview review processes.
• Supporting the development of reports, communication materials and People Hub resources. This internship provides practical experience in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Diversity & Inclusion, policy development, workforce planning and employee engagement within a LG.
The City of Nedlands is situated just 7km from Perth and stretches from the banks of the beautiful Swan River to the edge of the Indian Ocean. A population of over 21,000 live in the suburbs Nedlands, Dalkeith, Mt Claremont, Swanbourne, Karrakatta, and parts of Floreat and Shenton Park. The City is made up of four wards – Melvista, Hollywood, Dalkeith and Coastal.
