Role Description

Luma is seeking a motivated a UWA McCusker Centre undergraduate student to support the review, development and improvement of organisational policies, procedures and governance documentation. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a student interested in public policy, business, law, human resources, health sciences, social sciences or related disciplines to gain practical experience in organisational governance within the not-for-profit sector.
Working alongside experienced staff, the intern will assist in ensuring organisational policies are current, compliant, accessible and aligned with best practice, while developing valuable research, analytical and professional communication skills. Key Responsibilities Review existing organisational policies and procedures for accuracy, consistency and currency. Research relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice to inform policy updates. Assist with drafting and formatting new policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Support the development of policy templates, document control processes and version management. Help identify gaps within existing governance documentation and recommend improvements. Consult with staff to gather information relating to current operational practices. Prepare summaries and reports outlining recommended policy changes. Organise and maintain electronic policy documentation and filing systems. Assist with other governance and administrative projects as required.
