Empower Children and Families in the Peel Region
The Kids & Mums Thrive Program – developed and delivered by WA Mums Cottage Inc., is offering an internship for a committed person who is deeply motivated by supporting children and mothers build connection, family optimism, stability and confidence. This internship offers an ideal opportunity for someone looking to apply their training and research in a real-world, meaningful setting, while supported by a dedicated and values-driven team. We’re looking for a person who: • Has an interest and passion in supporting mothers and children build positive family dynamics and improve well-being at home. • Who is studying a relevant degree or specialist discipline in psychology, social sciences, community education or public health. • Can work with vulnerable mothers and children, and are able to deal with potentially sensitive or confronting information or situations.   About the Program The Kids and Mums Thrive Program is an innovative 4-week program that supports disadvantaged or vulnerable children aged 6 to 11yrs and their mothers, many who face challenges such as housing instability, food insecurity, trauma, and disrupted family dynamics. Our dual-focus approach works with both children and mothers to build emotional resilience, communication and life skills, towards supporting them establish greater family stability and well-being at home.
