Role Title: Strategic Evaluation Intern

Role Description

DPIRD is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to contribute to a critical retrospective review of the Department's performance against its current Strategic Intent. This foundational work is essential for informing the development of our next strategic plan and improving future performance measurement. The intern will primarily engage in desktop research and data analysis, with opportunities to develop valuable skills in strategic planning, performance measurement, and government operations.
Key Responsibilities: • Collect and synthesise information on DPIRD's projects and initiatives from various sources, including: o Business Unit (BN) reports and documentation o Publicly available media releases o Annual reports o Other internal DPIRD reports and publications • Identify and document key achievements and activities undertaken during the strategic intent period. • Assist in the identification of potential data sources, metrics, and indicators that could be used to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of DPIRD's initiatives. • Support the development of a framework for assessing past performance against strategic objectives. • Organise and maintain a repository of collected information for future reference. • Contribute to the drafting of initial findings and summaries.
