Broadway Connect Project Design Intern

Role Title: Broadway Connect Project Design Intern

Organisation: UWA Student Equity

Internship Period: Winter (June - July)

Location: Crawley

Role Description

Broadway Connect Program Design Intern will support a student-centred review and redesign of the Broadway Connect program to strengthen engagement, belonging, and transition support for first-year equity students at UWA.
Through this role, the intern will develop an understanding of student equity and widening participation in higher education, including the experiences, barriers, and support needs of students from underrepresented backgrounds, and how targeted transition and engagement initiatives can support student confidence, connection, and success at university. The intern will research best-practice first-year transition, belonging, and student engagement programs across Australian universities, compare approaches to supporting equity students, and work with the Student Equity team to identify opportunities for program improvement. With a focus on student needs and lived experience, the intern will contribute to practical recommendations to inform future Broadway Connect design, delivery, and student engagement outcomes.
