FH Australia is a health promotion charity, patient-centred organisation founded in 2023 by those with lived experience of inherited high cholesterol, providing support, advocacy and education for individuals and families with inherited lipid disorders – Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) and elevated Lipoprotein a (Lp(a)). FH Australia exists to advance health by improving Australia-wide awareness, understanding and access to diagnosis and treatments for individuals and families living with FH and Lp(a) - the two forms of genetic high cholesterol.
The intern will be supervised by FH Australia's Deputy Chair with support from the Chair, both of whom have a lived experience of FH.
As a volunteer-operated organisation, we are seeking support to develop a suite of key organisational written assets. With guidance, the intern will be responsible for drafting organisational position statements; researching, reviewing and developing new patient- and carer-facing website content; and creating core communication materials, including a comprehensive organisational impact statement (similar to an annual report) outlining activities and achievements over the past two years. The role will also support the development and refinement of organisational templates, such as branded PowerPoint presentations, and fundraising, advocacy and reporting documents. In addition, the intern will support FH Australia to develop 3–4 TikTok/social media videos to promote condition awareness.
