The Stores Management Project Intern supports the Supply and Logistics team in delivering projects that improve inventory management, store operations, and supply chain efficiency across North Metropolitan Health Service. Working under the guidance of experienced stores and procurement professionals, the intern contributes to initiatives that enhance stock accuracy, optimise workflows, support digital transformation, and improve service delivery to clinical and non-clinical areas.
This role provides practical experience in healthcare logistics, project coordination, data analysis, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement within a large public health organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing stores management improvement projects.
Support stocktake activities, inventory audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
Analyse inventory, purchasing, and usage data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to the development and review of stores procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
Assist in reviewing warehouse layouts and storage practices to improve safety, accessibility, and efficiency.
Support the implementation and testing of inventory management systems and process enhancements.
Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and project documentation for management.
