Role Title: COTA WA Website Project Intern

The intern will work directly with the CEO and our small team to re-develop the COTA WA website. The project will start with a review of the current WordPress site, focusing on readability, accessibility and ease of navigation for older audiences. The intern will then research and recommend options for website hosting and the most suitable content management system for our organisation. Once agreed, they will lead the project to re-platform the website, including managing the transfer of our domain and ensuring a smooth transition. This is a practical, hands-on role with clear outcomes that will have a lasting impact on a small community organisation supporting older people across Western Australia.
Starting life in 1959 as the old people’s welfare council of Western Australia, the change to the Western Australian Council of the Ageing in 1968 also crystallised the founding principal of valuing the contribution and lived experience of older people and the advance the rights, needs and interests of older western Australians. We work towards an equitable, just and inclusive society in which older people can flourish.
