Role Title: Research Intern 1: Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Project
Organisation: Local Government Professionals WA
Internship Period: Winter (June - July)
Location: Mt Hawthorn
Identify and synthesise proven diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices in local government that improve workforce attraction, retention, performance, and leadership diversity. This includes identifying 10–15 high-quality local government examples (state-wide or national) and helping to extract practical, transferable tools. The main output will be a short report (max 15 pages) and visual summary. The method:
• Review academic, government, and industry sources
• Include grey literature and applied case examples
• Prioritise implemented, evidence-backed DEI initiatives
Local Government Professionals Australia WA is the peak representative body for local government professionals in Western Australia.
LG Professionals WA was established in 1936, and is a National Federation with member associations in each State and Territory, representing over 5,000 members across Australia, with over 800 members in Western Australia.
