Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Location: Country, 1.5 hours south of Perth

Role Description

The intern will work primarily with the Shire’s Corporate Services team on an information governance and business systems improvement project.
A key focus of the role will be assisting the Shire to implement the requirements of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (PRIS Act). The intern will engage with staff from different areas of the organisation to understand existing information-handling practices and develop practical, streamlined processes that suit the needs of a small local government serving its regional community. A secondary component of the project will involve reviewing the Shire’s use of Monday.com for project and organisational reporting. The intern will investigate and help develop a streamlined and, where possible, automated process for converting Monday.com data into professional progress reports, either through Monday.com functionality or integration with other suitable reporting tools. The role would suit a student interested in information governance, privacy, digital systems, process improvement, data management and practical technology solutions.
