Role Title: Consumer Law Learning & Development - Digital Content Intern
Organisation: Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS)
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Perth CBD
Within the Consumer Protection Division – Conciliation and Services Directorate, the intern will assist the Manager Consumer Law Learning & Development with one of the following projects, depending upon skillset and interest:
A - Develop short, animated scribing videos for consumers and/or traders that explain various aspects of the Australian Consumer Law. The intern will work through the full video production cycle, including research, script writing, storyboard design, animated scribing video creation and possible voiceover work. Throughout this process the intern will work closely with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts. Completed video(s) will be hosted on the Consumer Protection website and promoted to consumers/traders. See https://www.consumerprotection.wa.gov.au/change-mind for a sample video.
B – Develop episode(s) for Consumer Protection’s two internal podcast series: The Culture Pod, which takes staff on a journey around Consumer Protection and offers knowledge, skills and tools for staff to live their best lives here; or Fair Trading Matters, which discusses important topics, key events and successes related to the Australian Consumer Law and the consumer protection space. The intern will participate in the full episode production cycle including topic research, guest selection/preparation, hosting/interviewing, recording and editing/production. Final episodes will be hosted on Consumer Protection’s internal culture and education SharePoint site.
