Donor Relations Automation and Data Intern

Role Title: Donor Relations Automation and Data Intern

Organisation: UWA Development and Alumni Relations

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Location: UWA Crawley

Role Description

The Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team oversees The University of Western Australia’s alumni, philanthropic and community strategies.
This exciting internship opportunity in the Donor Relations team within DAR focuses on enhancing donor engagement through research, automation, data analysis, and content development. This internship offers hands-on experience in philanthropic data management, donor stewardship planning, and process automation. The primary focus is to create a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution (using Power Automate or similar) to automate the creation of personalised stewardship reports for donors. This automation will amplify the impact of donor communications by streamlining repetitive, rule-based tasks and revitalising current processes. The reports will include qualitative and quantitative impact data, and information around award recipients, gift descriptions and other funded initiatives. Working closely with the Donor Relations team, the intern will also support data analysis, database management, and stewardship coordination activities to enhance overall donor engagement strategies. This secondary project will improve operational efficiency, ensuring consistent, timely communication with UWA's donor community. A unique opportunity to apply skills in process automation, coding and data analysis within a real-world philanthropic context. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and interested in donor relations.
