Role Title: CAFAWA marketing & communications intern

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Role Description

The Marketing and Communications Intern will support CAFAWA to strengthen its profile and communicate the work of its 32 member organisations across WA’s child and family services sector. During this 100-hour placement, the intern will learn about CAFAWA’s purpose, priorities and communities, and work with the Executive Officer to understand relevant policies, approval processes and the scope of the role.
The intern will develop a practical marketing and communications plan with clear objectives and a timeline. They will research CAFAWA’s audiences; plan social media content; improve the newsletter’s format and content; update website content; and draft media releases for review. Where appropriate, they will assist with media liaison. The intern will also track engagement and provide recommendations to guide future communications. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in event management with a Leaders Forum scheduled for late November and the AGM in early December.
