Role Title: Office of Homelessness Research and Stakeholder Engagement Intern Perth
Organisation: Department of Communities
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Perth
Reducing the number of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness is a priority for the State Government with all activity and
investment being guided by All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia's 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020-2030 (the Strategy).
The Department of Communities (Communities) established the Office of Homelessness to provide a dedicated focus on the stewardship,
coordination, strategic planning, and practices relating to homelessness. The Office of Homelessness oversees implementation of the
Strategy and the intern will support the Office in this role. In particular, the intern will work with the Office of Homelessness to develop plans
that will guide implementation of specific actions under the Strategy.
Development of implementation plans will involve review and analysis of relevant data and publications, and engagement with key
stakeholders including other Communities' divisions with responsibilities that intersect with homelessness, relevant State Government
agencies and community sector organisations.
The Department collaborates to create pathways that enable individual, family and community wellbeing. What we do has far-reaching impacts across all aspects of society. Supporting wellbeing can mean many things including ensuring children are safe, helping people access a home, or creating diverse and inclusive communities.
