Role Title: Historical Archives & Digital Content Intern
Organisation: The Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia Inc.
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Osborne Park
This internship will support the organisation’s 50-year legacy project by assisting with the review, organisation, and digitisation of historical materials stored in our secure archives. The intern will work closely with the communications and administrative team to identify, catalogue, and extract key information (such as dates, images, and significant events) from physical records. These materials will contribute to social media content, organisational timelines, and the development of a commemorative publication planned for our 50th anniversary in 2028.
The role is ideal for someone with an interest in history, storytelling, and digital content, who enjoys working with archival materials and transforming them into engaging, accessible formats.
The ADSA is a caring charitable organisation established in 1979 to save lives from deadly asbestos and dust diseases. A multi-faceted approach is used to address inequities for workers and the public in Western Australia. The ADSA has grown over the years and in May 2025 launched a full-service GP clinic to extend services to the community and workers.
