Consumer and Community Involvement Impact Stories Intern

Role Title: Consumer and Community Involvement Impact Stories Intern

Organisation: Western Australian Health Translation Network

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Location: Perth

Role Description

The Western Australian Health Translation Network's Consumer and Community Involvement Program (CCIProgram), based at the QEII Campus in Nedlands, works with researchers and consumers on specific research projects whereby people with lived experience are ‘matched’ and join a research team to share and guide project ideation, design, implementation, and translation. We wish to compile impact case studies and stories of a number of research projects across all research categories – basic science/discovery science, data, clinical, public health/implementation science and innovation.
A McCusker intern with communications expertise would work with the CCIProgram team to identify researcher-consumer teams, connect with them and seek information/interview to capture their ‘story’, and then form impact case studies. These project stories will be used on our website, reports, grant applications, and events to showcase the impact and processes of CCI in research. Interns would be based at the CCIProgram and be supported by members of the team to plan, connect, develop and then publish the identified case studies.
