Role Title: Community Events and Engagement Intern
Organisation: LJM Memorial Hospice
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: yanchep
This internship offers a unique opportunity to help design and deliver immersive, engaging, and meaningful events that form part of LJM Memorial’s rebrand to Kindlewood in 2026. You’ll work directly with the Founder and broader community network to shape events that spark connection, conversation, and compassionate action around end-of-life care.
Your role will contribute to the planning and coordination of:
• A full Palliative Care Week program
• Dying to Know Day initiatives
• Compassionate Communities Day
• Our 2026 AGM and Membership Recruitment Drive
• And the rollout of Kindle Clubs – our version of Death Cafés that open space for storytelling, legacy sharing, and grief literacy
This sits within our Community Engagement & Events area and involves event concepting, community outreach, basic promotion and signage, volunteer coordination, and ensuring each event reflects Kindlewood’s warm, grassroots identity. You'll be supported to grow your skills, try new things, and help create experiences that feel real, relational, and community-led.
You'll engage with local families, community groups, businesses, and volunteers – and leave with real-world experience in event building, storytelling, and compassionate community work. This is more than an internship – it’s a chance to help build something that will outlive all of us.
Empathetic, Humane and family oriented end of life care for everyone – funded and supported by the community.
LJM Memorial Hospice's mission is to provide compassionate, family-oriented care for people facing terminal illness and death. The hospice aims to create a supportive community that helps people and their loved ones deal with loss
