Role Title: Save Scott Reef Event and Campaign Intern 2
Organisation: Conservation Council WA
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: West Perth
Scott Reef is a fragile, living treasure that is home to endangered green turtles, elusive pygmy blue whales and rare sharks. This coral sanctuary is under threat from Woodside’s plan to drill for gas.
The Conservation Council of WA (CCWA) aims to educate the public on the threats to Scott Reef and to build a powerful movement of West Australians who regularly and visibly show state and federal decision-makers the depth of community support to protect Scott Reef.
The intern will spend the first half of the internship assisting with promoting and organising a large music and arts festival held by CCWA and its partners in the Save Scott Reef Alliance on Saturday 21 November, 2026.
Before the event, the intern will mobilise people to attend the event by distributing promotional materials, volunteer recruitment, and engaging with the public face-to-face.
The intern will also assist with volunteer management and other tasks on the day of the festival.
After the festival, the intern will be involved in following up with festival attendees to increase their engagement in the campaign and support them on a volunteer pathway.
The Conservation Council of WA is the state’s foremost non-profit, non-government conservation organisation. Through advocacy, community engagement, policy development, science, and on-the-ground projects, we help create a sustainable future that all Western Australians can look forward to.
