Role Title: Project Intern - Codesign and Evaluation

ASeTTS is developing two innovative pilot programs designed to address complex and emerging community needs through culturally responsive, evidence-informed approaches. Both programs require robust evaluation frameworks to demonstrate outcomes, impact, and future scalability.
The first program will provide therapeutic support to children aged 0-7 and their caregivers to address the impacts of intergenerational trauma. Using play therapy and the evidence-based Circle of Security parenting program, the initiative aims to strengthen parent-child relationships, enhance emotional wellbeing, and support healthy child development. The evaluation will involve the design and implementation of a comprehensive outcomes framework that measures changes in child wellbeing, caregiver capacity, attachment security, and family functioning. The evaluation will generate clear evidence of program effectiveness and inform future service development and funding opportunities.
The second program is a suicide prevention pilot within the South Sudanese community. Through a co-design process with community members, the program will develop and implement a culturally appropriate "Recognise, Respond and Refer" model to support conversations about suicide and mental health. The program aims to increase community awareness, reduce stigma, and build the capability of community members to identify and support those at risk of suicide. The evaluation will measure changes in knowledge and confidence.
The Association for Services to Torture and Trauma Survivors (ASeTTS) has a proud history of serving humanitarian entrants and refugees settling in WA since 1992. ASeTTS aspires to provide holistic services that assist refugee survivors of torture and trauma to rebuild their lives.
