Role Title: Collection Management - Policy Development & Implementation Intern

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Role Description

The intern will be reviewing the current Archives Collection Policies of Rail Heritage WA, which were written in five parts some time ago, with the intent to create a single policy, similar to the Museum Collection Policy (professionally written and reviewed). Then to consider the possible amalgamation of both policies before turning to the creation of a Digitisation Policy for the collections.
This means working with both Archives and Museum collection leads, together with resources pertaining to digitisation as per the Museum and Galleries Association (WA) guidelines (who are available for consultation). The final stage is to undertake some collection management accessioning tasks to test the digitisation approach.
