Mentoring

The McCusker Centre for Citizenship offers a unique Mentoring Program that connects UWA students who have been involved in the McCusker Centre for Citizenship’s programs with mentors from the not-for-profit, corporate and government sectors who have experience and leadership in actively contributing to their communities.

This program provides mentees with access to personalised support and advice from their mentor about how they can continue to contribute to the community and be an active citizen.

The pilot program took place March - October 2020, resulting in very positive feedback with 100% of students agreeing the experience helped them gain the knowledge, tools and skills needed to become a more active citizen and grow as a community engaged leader.

One of our 2020 mentees wrote "It was really empowering to be able to communicate and work with someone who is a respected professional and assists me in many ways to better understand the workings in the 'real world'."

The 2021 Mentoring Program is currently underway.
